MKToolsMaps Tutorial

I hope this is at least somewhat instructive.  I had to redo the audio after shooting the video, so please forgive the pauses and cutouts.

One error in this video: When using the green plus sign, you left click on a point, then click the green plus (in the video I say right click).  Left clicking and then using the green plus sign does the same task as right clicking on a point to add a new waypoint.

Here's a link to the thread for downloading MKToolsMaps (the link to the rar file is at the bottom of the post): http://www.mk-fr.info/forum/index.php/topic,937.msg13608.html#msg13608/

Doyen that was great! I was messing with way-points yesterday and couldn't figure how to get the software to work and was going to ask for assistance here at the forum. Your video answers a lot of my questions.

Thanks Again

Ditto on the great video/tutorial!!    That was helpful to walk through that!

One question... what is the 'time' value?  Is that how long it waits at each waypoint before going to the next?

Cheers

Yes and no. This is the time from the time the MK enters the waypoint radius. If the radius is set at 10m the the clock starts to count down from that point then when it reaches 0 it moves to the next point. for example: If you set your time at 10s and the radius at 5m the mk will count down the 10s from the time it enters the 5m radius and it will hover there longer before moving on to the next waypoint. If you set the time at 5s and the radius at 15m it will start to count down from the time it enters the 15m radius and of course since is only set for 5s it will move to the next waypoint before it reaches the center of the waypoint. I hope this makes sence.

Cheers

That is too cool ... I tried it ... i can get the Virtual earth to work .. but when I try to get the google image .. it comes back with pictures of cameras with the infamous 404 not found error .... HELP !!  ???

Update : --

Got it working ... it seems google earth wouldnt get that close on zoom in a residential area ...or it seems MY residential area ... works fine on others ...
Just a few  ?'s on using waypoints ... as soon as you transmit waypoints to MK .. off it goes ( assume you transmit with kopter in steady hover at altitude that you plan to fly ) ... or do you have to put gps mode switch in any particular position ... and to influence speed at which kopter travels to waypoints .. is this achieved by gps angle limit ??  Would like a moderate rate of travel ... but am afraid to use too little of an angle in the event MK encounters decent amount of wind ...  :( I had seen on one of .de vids you can cancel the waypoints by a certain sequence of flipping GPS mode .. cant remember how though .. in the event 900 MHZ link went down ...   What is the maximum # of waypoints kopter will take ??
Thanks !!!  I have always wanted to use the waypoints ... but had no idea how to get an image with GPS data imposed on it ....  ::)  If you are filming .. I guess kopter does not point into direction its going .. but I assume you could yaw without affecting ...   8)

Hi
When you upload the waypoints it will not start untill you put the mode switch to coming home.to control the speed you can put the gps p limit tab on a poti. What this parameter does is control how fast the gps reacts.try this in short hops to see how it works.

What we really need is the Mission Cockpit manual translated to English so we can use it with GeoMap, or at least the parts that describe how to use POI and the Teddy bear ;D
