Propeller up and down
« on: February 21, 2012, 09:33:15 PM »

Hi everyone,
a friend pointed me toward a flicker photostream where I saw pictures of a MK Hexa with some propellers pointing down. I was wondering if this helps to solve any vibration issue.
Take a look, it´s a good looking machine: http://flic.kr/p/ax7r97

Took me a minute to notice the mk... never mind the props.

Interesting.  Like to hear the reason.

What MK?

 :D

In theory it should as the airstream will not be constantly buffeting against the frame. However vibration is more about balancing the props and motors. Good quality motors and well balanced props are the key to a vibration free flight.

You could always turn your motors and props upside down and let us know how it responds  :P

The reason the motors are inverted is because Simon is experimenting with lower Kv motors and larger props. Every second motor was inverted to have prop clearance.

You could run the motors that way if you've got problems with vibration due to prop wash over the arms.
