MX-20 touches to access graphical mikrokopter-menu
« on: July 02, 2012, 05:36:45 AM »

I installed the latest upgrades Flght .88m/Navi .28m to MK and installed V4 for the MX-20. I can get to the text-telemetry through the dataview menu and see all the data.
Can someone tell me what key touches are used to display the mikrokopter-menu? The mikrokopter-menu is shown under Telemetry Display on http://www.mikrokopter.de/ucwiki/en/HoTT.

The mikrokopter-menu screen shows:
battery status in the top left hand corner,
altitude and direction in top right hand corner,
number of GPS sats and speed in bottom left hand corner, and
home distance and direction in bottom right hand corner.

Thanks.

Is this what you need?
The "Text-Telemetry" you can open via the menu "Telemetry". With the "Text-Telemetry" you are able to display more telemetry values.

In the opening screen of the transmitter press ESC for around ~2 seconds to switch into the telemetry.

With UP/DOWN select Setting & Data View and open it with SET.
Now either way click 1x arrow "UP" or 6x arrow "RIGHT".
    The Text-Telemetry will open.

The info is on the same page from you link (without the . in the link)

I do it a bit different for speed reasons.  On the setup menu (right button) I always leave Telemetry highlighted.  Then while flying with the MK graphical display (on my SmartBox) I simply press the Set button and then do the steps brom Bart.  Just seems easier for me than holding the Esc button.  Would be nice on the next rev that you could scroll through those screens from the new screen.

Would have made my testing today a lot easier.  Flew my Hasselblad for the first time.  Nice calm day.  Tried it with both a 4S and 5S.  I'll do a writeup on all of the temps, etc later today.  Flew nice.  Plenty of power, though better with the 5S.

Gentlemen,
Thanks for your responses. I am able to access the text-telemetry using the procedures that you listed. The V4 is suppose to have a more graphical display of key info and allows the voice info to be heard at the same time. The webpage that I cited shows a photo of the new display.

Yes it has lots of more voice prompts.  Don't forget to update the MX-20 voice files otherwise you won't get them.  I got a bit concerned about the battery icon not showing anything but in an exchange with Holger it isn't an indicator, just a line drawing to indicate the battery area of the display.

Could you tell me how you brought up the mikrokopter-menu on your MX-20?

I am trying to access the mikrokopter-menu that is shown under Telemetry Display on http://www.mikrokopter.de/ucwiki/en/HoTT.

To access the mikrokopter-menu, press the down arrow on the ESC pad.

I am also having trouble.

If I press any arrow button on either SET or ESC side I will get into the telemetry data screens but I only get the frames and forms but no information (all values = 0 or blank) except for the receiver module.
I can choose the module (once I am inside the screens) by using the up arrow on the SET side.

I cannot understand what I'm doing wrong.

Also my screens do not show the Mikrokopter web address (or the word mikrokopter) anywhere which is different from the descriptions on Holgers site (http://www.mikrokopter.de/ucwiki/en/HoTT).

Another difference. From reading the text I understand that there is supposed to be a screen after the RX SERVO TEST screen in the telemetry, settings & data view screens. In my system the RX SERVO TEST is the last screen.

Other than that my system is working fine. No errors in MKTools, engines start up. I have not flown it yet.

What am I missing?

Thanks

OK, problem solved!

There are two pads on the FC card that needs to be soldered together / jumped. When you look at the images on the german site it is not obvious that the soldering of the pads have been done. The two pads are just in front of the word JET perpendicular to the TX pad. Attaching picture. After I connected the two pads I now get the telemetry data!

Good luck.
